My plan is to bump this up. Many more works to come. Cheers-Josh

hey there internets! I have some good news - I got a job finally at a very cool place called www.viscira.com/ The team I work with do very sweet high-end animations - I've mainly been on storyboards but I hope to get onto some concept art soon! This is great because I can do personal projects on the weekend! Yup, art is my life! and I love it >:)
I'll be updating this blog with some studies - and perhaps some personal work. Stay tuned.

Hello, from a long absence....
Hey, followers,
Here's something I've been working on recently:
I'm pretty excited as to what 2011 will bring artistically. Last few months I've been working on a really cool project with some awesome people from my school. As this year ends and another takes it's place, I plan to continue my art book which is still under production. Given the nature of what I'm trying to accomplish with it, it will probably take awhile( I know that's vague but, this is why you can follow my bog!:)). Alot of time is consumed with the conceptual stage. Since its a world that I've always envisioned, I really want to push it. It already reads very differently from other worlds, my main concern now will be making it look and feel very different from what's out there.
Besides that, I've been indulging in some pinup goodness, as you can see below. I'm really enjoying painting it and may be doing some sort of series if people like it. Believe it or not people love dark pinups!:) who new? I may be having a show in SF sometime after January so look out for that. I'll be sure to keep people posted on facebook.

leatherbabe study(refined_1)

hey digital peeps, here's a study I've been painting recently, Its not close to finished yet though, I'm really trying to get that texture down and also the leather. All in all, it's a fun challenge and in the final version I want to get everything looking excellent. And yes, I'll be finishing my Erion City Illustration soon, Only painting a hot leather chick would keep me away from that :) Anyways I cant wait to have the first section of my book finished up, it's looking really good. I might just spend all of next week on it. Anyways, have a nice weekend, Josh
^Edit : Heres a more refined version. I'm getting more into the lady here, next will be leather, than background

The Walrus
Thursday, April 8, 2010

Hello internets,, Here's a painting I've started. I've been looking for an excuse to start oil painting again and I think I've found it:) I'll post more about the concept once its finished. There's nothing like putting oil to canvas though, let me tell ya:)
I put in a few hours already just setting it up, but if this goes well then maybe I'll do a series. I'd love to start showing in galleries. I have a huge list of them just in case I get one together. My dilemma though is a series has to have a theme ad I'm all over the place when it comes to art styles and subjects and methods.
But I do love painting portraits.
